Location, Location, Location: BCAM @ the LACMA

What: Broad Contemporary Art Museum
Where: LACMA [Los Angeles County Museum of Art]
When: one of the past fridays. lol.

For the people that have never been to the lacma,
it's simply AMAZING.
It's comprised of multiple buildings/sections devoted to everything from
different eras of art, specific cultures, and just different types of art in general...
[photography, still frames from films, paintings, drawings. etc.]

I'm not gonna lie.
Some of the buildings had things that just wasn't my cup of tea.
It was like walking into my art history book.

side note: it's interesting how much
i actually learned in my classes.
I felt very intellectual. lol
But the best part of what I saw that day was the BCAM building.
Everything was very aesthetically pleasing to the eye, whether the piece was political or represented itself as itself. Everything was good and visually stimulating.
Had the works of the likes of Warhol, Koons, etc.

The building itself stood apart from the others, even its elevator was out of the norm. It was seriously like a tall room moving from one level to another. It was ginourmous. It reminded me of haunted mansion elevator at Disneyland.

side note #2: the elevator is an art piece..
"one of the architectural centerpieces of Renzo Piano's building
was the enormous glass-enclosed elevator
that showcases artist Barbara Kruger’s
three-story, red, black and white
elevator shaft installation, "Untitled (Shafted)."
- Los Angeles Times

If your ever in the LA area, its definitely a place to go check out. Other things the LACMA has to offer, but I unfortunately didn't get to see that day:
  •  tar pits
  • light pole installment outside
  • japanese gardens
  • theatre
holla at it.
side note #3: there's a photography exhibit up right now
@ the BCAM that's worth going to see. The installment
is of character self portraits by the photographer...
awww crap i forgot her name.
